Brasøy Sjøfiske

As soon as you look at the local nautical chart, you realize what a fabulous exceptional area is right on your doorstep - and above all, it is extremely sheltered from the wind!

"Short distances and big fish" is the motto here.

Just a few minutes by boat from Brasøy Sjøfiske you reach the first real hotspot - "Seiholmtaren".

Both large saithe and cod can be found both west and east of Trettholmen.

If you head west towards the Kastsveet plateau in good weather conditions, you are almost guaranteed great fishing moments - a fantastic place surrounded by deep water, where baitfish and of course their pursuers are always to be found.

But you can also meet large cod and pike on the shoals at sea, while towards the deep edge you will find sea otters, ling and redfish - the species variation here has no limits.

On the way north into Husværfjorden, on the other hand, you are in the "Lyr sky" - an incredibly large and textured area with flat water with countless hotspots and plateaus full of bladder wrack where the big fish hunt prey. Regardless, fish over the meter is always possible here, with September traditionally bringing out the largest pieces.

Once you have fished the quota, we recommend a visit to the unique mountain range Syv Søstre and Dønnamannen.
