Speaking of the tide, we have seldom experienced test fishing where the fishing has been so influenced by the tide as at Balsfjorden . Especially at the "hotspot close the camp of Stornes , you can catch a lot of cod, haddock and loach in the 3 hours before high tide , while the area seems to mutate into a fish-free zone when the tide recedes. Halibut anglers , who wants to fish at Rystraumen, only 9 nautical miles away , should keep a particularly close eye on the time in this area, because the clear majority of the "flat fish" are caught here in the last two hours before the high tide.
